Advanced Yoga Teacher Training

Facilitated by Christine Apter, PhD, ERYT 500

Workshops for teachers and advanced students are held once a month during the summer months. Explore techniques and philosophy and deepen your understanding and practice of the vast and treasured teachings of yoga. These workshops are intended to advance yoga teachers and serious practitioners by providing deeper explorations into asana, pranayama, meditation, anatomy, philosophy in a well-planned, experiential atmosphere. They are designed to meet the curricular requirements of Yoga Alliance for continuing education and expansion toward advanced teacher status. Ample materials, notes and resources are provided.

Sit N Fit Chair Yoga Teacher Training

Sit N Fit Chair Yoga is an evidence-based program proven to significantly reduce pain and fatigue, improve gait speed, pain interference, and quality of life. You will learn how to create and teach a simple, powerful chair yoga class that is safe for everyone.

2018 95-Hour Children's Yoga Teacher Training

The Yoga Center of Deerfield Beach is offering a unique opportunity to complete 95 hours of advanced teacher training with highly experienced yoga educators in winter/spring 2018. Early Childhood/Early Elementary Yoga Teacher Training

INCLUDED IN THE COURSE:

Course focuses on teaching toddlers to the early elementary school years. It will include: stages of child development including application in areas such as anatomy and physical alignment principles for little ones; child-centered and developmentally-appropriate techniques such as postures, breath/body awareness, concentration, relaxation and mindfulness; effective class structuring, planning and behavior management tools.

Purpose of the class: To have fun, strengthen and improve balance; develop body -awareness and self-control; to improve social interaction; to learn techniques for relaxation. Teachers will be observing to learn more about technique.


Little Things Matter

Origins of Hatha Yoga, from Shamanism through Shankara to Tantra including Shamanic postures. Functional anatomy of front and back body, hyoid, little finger, toe, and tailbone create foundations for back bending sequences.

Students will be teaching a Saturday community class in the beautiful setting of Deerfield Beach Arboretum.  $225 - 12 hours

Yoga at the Time of the Gita

The lessons of Arjuna and Krishna and the pre-classical period of yoga philosophy are presented. Anatomy of the hands and feet and their integration of support provide the context for safe and accessible hand balancing poses.  $225 - 12 hours

Sound Breath and Transcendence

With Christine Apter, PhD, ERYT 500.

The profound teachings of non-dualism are introduced and discussed with references to the Yoga Upanishads. Sound, breath and transcendence come together with the additional techniques mantra and mandala. Anatomically, the core sutra is examined to provide integrity and perspective for wholeness. Meditation and psycho-technology are emphasized.  $150 - 8 hours apply toward 500 hour Advanced Teacher Training or CEUs


Integrating Ayurveda and Yoga: An Advanced Training for Yoga Teachers and Advanced Practitioners

With Kattie Maffeo E-RYT 200, 500 RYT, CAP

Ayurveda basic principles include dosas, dinacharya, agni and pulse. Individualized examinations of Vats, Pita, Kapha, ams sib-dosas are examined.  Asana and Ayurvedic anatomy for individual dosas will be practiced. Ayurvedic philosophy of Samkhya and 20 guns are presented and discussed.  $150 - 8 hours apply toward 500 hour Advanced Teacher Training or CEUs
